30 West Family Restaurant
Report: I followed my assignment to 30 West Family Restaurant on an early morning mission. In my training, I was instructed that if the parking lot is full then the restaurant serves great food. I had high expectations since the parking lot was so full that I had to wait until someone left to get a parking spot...
This is an all American diner. In fact, I would not have been surprised if Mel yelled from the kitchen and Flo came around the corner and yelled "kiss my grits". The highway diner décor is a mixture of local Native American historical artifacts and a buy-out of the starving artist's expo, so I was pretty sure that all the patrons were not there for the ambiance. The menu was priced very reasonable. My breakfast was good. The surprise was the home-style sausage patty with pepper and onion seasoning that tasted fresh from the farm. To finish my down-home egg breakfast, I ordered my breakfast potatoes with onions.
It is May and I was remiss in forgetting my Mother's Day present for my waitress that took care of me just like dear ole' mom. From helping me choose the best menu choices to making sure my coffee was filled to talking to me about my plans for the day, she made me feel just like family. The parking lot was full because of the good food, good price and the epitomized non-nagging no agenda family feel of this restaurant.
